This project posed a unique challenge: the original space consisted of three separate rooms that lacked cohesion and functionality. Our solution was to reimagine the layout entirely, combining all three rooms into a single, flowing space tailored to our client’s lifestyle.
We began by opening up the floor plan to create a unified kitchen and living area. As part of the transformation, we also remodeled the adjacent laundry room and powder room to match the updated kitchen design for a cohesive look throughout.
To increase natural light in the kitchen, we removed a small window above the sink and replaced it with a double casement window. We also removed the single exterior door and installed a space-saving double outswing door. A new walk-in pantry with a barn door was added, maximizing storage without encroaching on the floor plan.
A large central island became the focal point of the kitchen, featuring cabinetry on both sides, a built-in microwave drawer, and a second sink for added convenience. We installed a built-in Sub-Zero refrigerator with a slide-out pantry beside it, providing ample cold storage and easy access to pantry items.
Cooking capacity was greatly enhanced with the addition of a large induction range, a wall oven, and a warming drawer—perfect for entertaining or holiday gatherings. A custom range hood with a 1,000 CFM fan was installed above the stove for optimal ventilation.
Additional features include a full-size dishwasher, garbage disposal, and a dedicated buffet area complete with an under-counter wine fridge and refrigerator, ideal for entertaining.
To complete the renovation, the laundry room and powder room were updated to reflect the kitchen’s cabinetry and finishes, creating a seamless transition across all three spaces.
